Expert in political sciences Anatol Țăranu said the European Parliament elections for which polling stations were established in Moldova marked the political life in Romania and in Moldova as well. According to him, the fact that a large number of Moldovans with Romanian passports voted in these elections is a signal addressed also to the national political classes, IPN reports.

“Attention, the signal was a very important one. The attempt to ignore this signal will end badly for those who swiftly learn the taught political lessons,” the expert stated in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel.

Anatol Țăranu noted a new political force is needed on the political arena in Moldova. This new force could form based on the pro-Romanian preferences as the people last Sunday voted depending on beliefs, the intellectual level, training that was higher than average and this shows that there is a very precious electoral nucleus that could extend quickly and give birth to a political force.

Politologist Alexandru Solcan said that even if there are over 40 parties in Moldova, the country needs a new non-discredited political force. “We are waiting for the new reconfiguration of the European institutions so that the Republic of Moldova does its homework and could benefit from common projects and come closer to Europe,” he stated.

According to the partial results presented by the Central Election Bureau of Romania, the PNL got 26.35% (10 seats), PSD – 23.16% (9 seats) and USR-PLUS – 21.24% (7 seats). The Pro Romania Party, which includes former Moldovan prime minister Iurie Leanca no.4 on its list, got 6.77% and only 2 seats. UDMR and PMP also secured 2 seats each with 6.19% and 5.64% respectively. ALDE won only 4.13% of the ballot.
