Anatol Șalaru: I anticipate a PDM-PSRM ruling alliance will be formed

The executive president of the National Unity Party Anatol Șalaru does not rule out the possibility that a ruling alliance between the Democratic Party and the Party of Socialists will be formed this week or next week. “These parties have somehow similar views, of the left,” he was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Country” on Vocea Basarabiei TV channel.

The politician noted that if a PDM-PSRM government is formed, the Republic of Moldova will be thrown many years backward. “We will follow a dead-end track and there will be blockage on the part of the European Union,” stated Anatol Șalaru.

He does not think the Bloc ACUM would stand to gain if it forms an alliance with the PDM or the PSRM and this would be a bad sign for everyone.

According to Anatol Șalaru, even if the people do not want snap elections, the politicians should always be ready for such elections. “I don’t think the snap elections can change the current composition of Parliament much, except for plus/minus 2-3 seats. Maybe the Bloc ACUM could be on the second place as they won more votes than the PDM, but obtained fewer seats of MP. The Socialists could get by one seat more or fewer,” he stated.

The politician noted it will be now easier to achieve the Union desideratum in Moldova as the people will realize that all the attempts made in other directions will fail.
