MP Ilan Shor has called on lawmakers, in particular the ACUM bloc, to “recall that they were elected by the people of Moldova, not the East or the West”.
Without naming anyone in particular, the Shor Party leader criticized during a press conference the behavior “of some lawmakers who follow orders from Brussels and Moscow”. “I get the impression that if the foreign masters were to call back the MPs they control, Parliament will be left almost empty. Our Parliament and our country doesn’t need masters from neither the East nor the West”.
Shor went on to direct his criticism at PAS leader Maia Sandu in particular, claiming that she “should not be allowed to be in government or in Parliament, because she was one of the key members of the team of (ex-prime minister Vlad Filat), who was convicted for this (bank fraud) crime”. “You were among those who endorsed the bailout, and you benefited from this. You were a member of the PLDM, which received money from the BEM”, stated Ilan Shor.
Thursday will be two months since MPs in the current Parliament were confirmed, and Ilan Shor used this occasion to speak proudly about his party’s achievements during this period. He mentioned in particular the launch of a street lighting project as a thank-you for the constituencies that gave the Shor Party their votes. Shor also claimed credit for recent road and courtyard repairs in Orhei, the town he used to run as a mayor before becoming an MP.
