The Shor Party in the parliamentary elections of February 24 won seven seats of MP, two of which in single-member constituencies, according to the preliminary results presented by the Central Election Commission. Among those who entered Parliament is the party’s leader Ilan Shor, who was sentenced to seven years in jail as the president of the Administration Board of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank) by the ordinary court, IPN reports.
Ilan Shor won in single-member constituency No. 18 Orhei, Călărași, while Marina Tauber in single-member constituency No. 19 Orhei, Rezina, Criuleni, Dubăsari. They both headed the list of candidates, being under No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.
According to the party’s list of candidates, seats of MP will also be held by Petru Jardan, director general of Avia–Invest company that manages the Chisinau International Airport, the party’s secretary general Maria Albot, Ilan Shor’s lawyer Denis Ulanov, deputy mayor of Orhei Reghina Apostolova, who ran for the mayoralty of Chisinau, but was excluded from the race, and jurist Vadim Fotescu.
The preliminary results, with 100% of the votes cast in the February 24 elections being counted, show the Party of Socialists gained 35 seats of MP, 17 of which in single-member constituencies. The Democratic Party won 30 seats, 17 of which in single-member constituencies. The electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS obtained 26 seats, 12 of which in single-member constituencies, while the Shor Party – seven seats, two of which in constituencies.
The turnout at last Sunday’s elections was 49,22%, which is 1 453 013 voters.
