If last Sunday’s legislative elections had been free and fair, the situation in the future Parliament would have been different, said the co-president of the electoral bloc ACUM DA PAS Maia Sandu. According to her, the bloc ACUM was robbed of votes on the election day and before the election campaign by the denigration and false information aimed at the bloc, IPN reports.

“The people were forced to take decisions about the vote based on false reports or on electoral alms,” the politician stated in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel.

At the same, Maia Sandu said the bloc ACUM DA PAS will not form a coalition in the future Parliament with the Democratic Party or the Party of Socialists. The bloc cannot change the rhetoric it had in the election campaign, when it declared firmly that it will not form an alliance with any of the two parties. Furthermore, they signed a commitment to this effect.

“We come with laws that will free the state institutions from captivity. These laws are for the people. If there are other people with at least slight responsibility in Parliament, these laws will be passed. If not, this is life,” stated the politician.

Maia Sandu noted that in the future Parliament they will propose a bill on the declaration of the state of emergency in the law enforcement agencies by which the captivity of judges and prosecutors and all the law enforcement bodies and the need to free them by extraordinary measures will be recognized.

The preliminary results, with 100% of the votes cast in the February 24 elections being counted, show the Party of Socialists gained 35 seats of MP, the Democratic Party – 30, the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA and PAS – 26 and the Shor Party – seven. Three independent candidates also entered Parliament.
