The people of science, together with the entire population, are urged to take part in the parliamentary elections in a large number so as not to allow the Socialists to take over. Historian Andrei Groza, first pro-rector of the Public Administration Academy, made such a call, saying the electoral program of the Socialists promotes hatred against Romanians and promises to ban by law everything that is Romanian.
In a news conference at IPN, the historian said there is a real danger that those who have other views than those of the Socialists, namely those who say they are Romanians, after the elections will be persecuted, while the scientists will face censorship and will be banned from writing works that make reference to Moldova’s affiliation to the Romanian space. In a state that claims to be democratic, the stipulation of the objective to ban ideas with which a party does not agree in its electoral program is very serious and represents a human rights violation. Currently, even if the Romanian ideas are not banned in Moldova, he recently faced a situation when the administration of a network of bookshops didn’t respect the contract conditions and intentionally didn’t put on sale two of his works because one of these was about the Romanian language, while the second was about the role played by the Soviet Union in the initiation of World War II.
“On December 1 last year, there was printed my work “Romanian language – foundation of the birth of human civilization” where I presented arguments showing Romanian was the first language spoken by our people. After I launched the work, I was asked by people where they could buy this book and I therefore decided to put it on sale. After I went to the head office of a network of bookstores in Chisinau and completed all the formalities, when I took to the storehouse this book and one more work launched in 2018, entitled “U.R.S.S. – instigator of World War II”, the storehouse’s head replied to me that she was Moldovan and does not understand what those books can be about. She said these works would probably not be accepted as she decides what books are taken and accepted for sale,” stated Andrei Groza.
Vasile Năstase, president of the public association “Rumâna”, said the decision not to put on sale a scientific work is very serious and is an attempt to censure a historical truth. He called on the electors not to vote for the Party of Socialists as this party lies to the people, promotes hatred between nations and wants to suppress by law the ideas with which they do not agree.
