The Parliament’s spring session opens on February 4. An order to this effect was signed by Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu. From next Monday, the MPs will resumed work as part of the legislature’s bodies and the Standing Bureau on February 6 will decide the date of the first plenary sitting, IPN reports.
According to the regulations of the legislative body, Parliament has two ordinary sessions a year. The spring session starts in February and can last until the end of July.
The mandate of the current legislature expired on November 30, 2018. Under the Constitution, the Parliament’s mandate is extended until the new composition is formed legally. In the period, the legislative body can adopt only ordinary laws and decisions, can stage hearings, consultations and can perform parliamentary control.
