Prime Minister Pavel Filip asked to notify the representatives of the mediators and observers to the Transnistrian settlement process of particular provocative measures takes recently by the so-called bodies of the Transnistrian region concerning Varnița village of Anenii Noi district, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, on January 25 the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski signed a so-called decision saying that Varnița village is temporarily under the Republic of Moldova’s control and the relevant duties are carried out by the self-styled local bodies of Proteagailovca village.

The Premier asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration to request the representatives of the OSCE, Russia, Ukraine, the EU and the U.S. to use the potential of the “5+2” format talks to stop the effects of this provocative action. Concomitantly, there will be examined the opportunity of discussing the given subject in the next meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna.
