A group of MPs of the Democratic Party on September 21 submitted an application to the Constitutional Court by which they demand to ascertain the circumstances that justify the suspension of the President the Republic of Moldova from office so that an acting President could perform the constitutional duties and named the ministers proposed by the Prime Minister given that President Dodon refused to appoint these.
Contacted by IPN, MP Sergiu Sârbu said they asked to examine the application as a matter of urgency. He anticipated an acting President could be named next week already and this will sign the decrees to appoint Silvia Radu as minister of health and Nicolae Ciubuc as minister of agriculture.
Earlier, the Constitutional Court passed judgements by which the President was suspended and the Speaker of Parliament, as the acting President, signed decrees to name new members of the Cabinet and also to promulgate the law to amend the Broadcasting Code after President Igor Dodon refused to promulgate this even if he was obliged to do it after the legislative body adopted the bill twice.
