The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) is preparing the public opinion for a possible coalition with the Party of Socialists and the Shor Party in the future Parliament. The formation of an electoral bloc under a new electoral brand is also not excluded. The issue was developed in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
Vice president of the Liberal Party Valeriu Munteanu said the distancing of the ruling party from the European course is not accidental. It is evident that after suppressing the PLDM and driving the PL away from government, the PDM remained alone and put on his mask of the European integration. “In time they took actions that didn’t match this message, starting with summary arrests and the change of the electoral system contrary to the Venice Commission’s opinion, then the invalidation of the Chisinau elections, expulsion of Turkish citizens and citizenship by investment. These are issues that could be neither implanted in the minds of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova nor sold abroad to the development partners,” stated the politician.
According to him, the PDM is preparing the public opinion for a possible coalition with the PSRM or the Shor Party after the upcoming parliamentary elections. The party could also form an electoral bloc under a new electoral brand given the PDM’s bad reputation.
Analyst Corneliu Ciurea said the promotion of the European integration was exaggerated during the past few years by the PDM. “The Democratic Party in this period wanted to be more catholic than the Pope because the pro-European course brought particular advantages and continues to bring, but they inflated somehow this pro-European love and now abandoned it, but return to realism. Now the pro-European course means attention to the citizens and if the living standards grow here, the Europeans could look at us in a different way,” stated Corneliu Ciurea.
Recently, the Democratic Party announced that it will be a pro-Moldova party from now on and will act in the interests of all the Moldovans with an agenda that will focus on people’s problems.
