Vlad Batrîncea, MP of the pro-presidential Party of Socialists (PREM), said the road accident that involved President Igor Dodon wasn’t inadvertent and was an attempt on the Head of State. On a social networking site, the politician enumerated several reasons in favor of his assertions, IPN reports.
The MP argued the tensions are high and the stakes in the pre-electoral year are also high also because Igor Dodon several days ago announced his intention to run in the upcoming parliamentary election as the first candidate on the list of the PSRM. “Given his high rating and the support of the majority of the population, this is very dangerous for the power and the parties of the right, for their European protectors. Earlier they banned the President from being a party member,” stated Vlad Batrîncea.
According to him, the situation in the region is tense, given also the death of the de facto Premier of Abkhazia in a road accident recently. “Furthermore, two days ago Igor Dodon met again the Transnistrian leader Vadim Krasnoselski”. Vlad Batrîncea noted the dialogue makes progress and a new round of talks is to be held at the end of his year. It is not a secret that the President openly pleads for the unification of the state”.
The MP said the geopolitical stakes are very high. He referred to the appointment of Dmitry Kozak, who is known for his experience of looking for the formula to unify Moldova, as the special representative of the Russian Federation in Moldova. The unification project is unfavorable for Romania and the U.S. as it does not match the algorithm of their interests.
Among the reasons, the MP also named the upcoming staging of a number of events that are important for Moldova on the initiative of Igor Dodon, such as the World Congress of Families that will involve Patriarch Kiril and a series of personalities known worldwide, the Moldovan-Russian Business Forum where a series of large economic and investment projects are to be launched, the visit by the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who will take part in the inauguration of the repaired Presidential Building, and the launch of a series of humanitarian projects. “These and other events undoubtedly bother the power and the parties of the right,” stated Vlad Batrîncea.
“The enumeration of reasons can be continued, but adding up all the factors, it is simply absurd to speak about an accident. Such accidents do not exist, especially in politics,” stated the politician. “Such a road accident on a route used by the President that is well-known by the opponents (he was taking his mother home, to Sadova), on a narrow road, with two lanes where there was no place for maneuvering, with the use of a heavy truck, left not many chances to the President. Those who were in the car were saved by the moves of the able driver, who maximally avoided a fatal impact.”
President Igor Dodon was involved in a road accident on September 9.
