Plan of action for implementing Moldova-EU Association Agreement to be updated

The national plan of action for implementing the Moldova-EU Association Agreement during 2017-2019 will be updated following the implementation of the central public administration reform and the approval of the new Association Agenda with the EU on August 4, 2018. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on March 28, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, the updated plan incorporates the priorities of the new Association Agenda and clearly defines the tasks of the institutions responsible for the implementation of measures, based on the redistribution of powers following the central public administration reform.

The plan defines the measures needed to implement the Association Agreement during the three years and also to adjust the national legislation to the European standards and principles, in accordance with the assumed commitments.

The financial resources necessary for implementing all the measures will be earmarked in the national budget and in the medium-term expenditure framework. Also, Moldova will benefit from assistance from the EU and the development partners.

If the planned measures are carried out, Moldova will make progress in ensuring the gradual political association and economic integration into the EU.
