The problems of the municipality of Chisinau must be solved one by one, regardless of the political color of the municipal councilors, the leader of the Socialist councilors on the Chisinau Council Ion Ceban said in the public debate “Dissolution of majority coalition on the Chisinau Municipal Council: reasons and consequences at local and national levels” that was organized by IPN News Agency together with Radio Moldova”. Ceban noted that the alliances on the Council do not hold interest for the Socialite group.
According to the councilor, the Socialist group will vote for decisions that will help improve the living conditions of the residents of Chisinau, no matter who puts them forward. They plead for transparency in the decision-making process and for the introduction of performance criteria for functionaries.
Ion Ceban considers that all the decisions within the Council should be drafted in a participatory way and public debates should be held on all the subjects, especially in the case of decisions that refer to financing.
The councilor also said that the Socialist group is for naming the division heads by contest and is against the voting of decisions in a package. He noted that over 500 land-related decisions were sent back for reexamination because they suspected that someone pursued personal goals in these cases.
Ion Ceban considers that if they work like during the last two meetings of the Municipal Council, a lot of things will change in the municipality in half a year.
Two weeks ago, the agreement to form a pro-European alliance on the Chisinau Municipal Council was ended.
The public debate entitled “Dissolution of majority coalition on the Chisinau Municipal Council: reasons and consequences at local and national levels” is the 51st installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are held with the support of the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
