The agricultural season was launched today, March 13, by the opening of the 36rd, spring edition of the exhibition “Moldagrotech”. Over 150 companies from nine countries will display their offer of innovations, technologies and equipment for the agro-industrial sector, phytosanitary products and fertilizers at the exhibitions center “Moldexpo” during March 13-16, IPN reports.
Eleonora Nistor, manager for Moldova of an Italian consultancy company, said they came to the exhibition to inform the agricultural producers that grow cherries, apples and strawberries that they can benefit from consultancy starting with planting and ending with sorting, packing and canning.
Vasile Zanivei manages a company that produces precompressed cement poles made in Moldova. Until now, these poles were imported from Italy. “It is better for the people to find these in the country than to import them. We develop our economy. The poles are sold at lower prices than the import ones,” he stated.
Andrei Gavriliţă, director of the representative office in Moldova of an Austrian company that produces equipment for the animal breeding sector and sprinkler irrigation, said Moldova’s soil is hard and drip irrigation hardens it further.
Attending the opening of the exhibition, Minister of Aeroculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc said the event is a platform for informing agricultural producers and an opportunity for equipment producers to make their offer known. The agricultural sector is most seriously affected by climate change. Modern technologies contribute to alleviating the consequences of these changes.
“Moldagrotech” involves companies from Moldova, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine. The event will include a series of seminars, roundtable meetings and training sessions where experts will raise topical subject for making agriculture more attractive.
