Silvia Radu, who is running as an independent in the October 30 presidential elections, said she loves Moldova and wants to live here together with her children and, if she is elected Head of State, she will make effort for the country to prosper. She made such statements in the electoral public debate “What kind of President is society looking for? What kind of society does the President need?”, staged by IPN News Agency.
“I was warned that the decision about who the future President will be was practically taken, but I do not want to believe this as we, the people, can decide our fate,” stated the candidate.
Silvia Radu noted that the Republic of Moldova was managed by parties of the left and the right and by all kinds of politicians who showed what they can do, but rather what they cannot do. “I think we need an integral and independent President with clear views and leadership abilities, who showed that he can bring about changes and who will be able to solve the economic problems of the country and ensure decent incomes for the people or we will be unable to stop migration,” stated the candidate.
Silvia Radu noted she is an expert in economy and knows how to act. “I think I am the most suitable candidate because I will represent the whole society without defending the interests of a party and without dividing the country. I will be the person who will manage to unite all the people,” she said.
According to Silvia Radu, there is not enough labor force in the country. “The companies do not find skilled workers in the areas where they need. I’m sure that the President can stimulate the economic sector. The bureaucratic barriers should be removed. We have a difficult and complex taxation system. When taxes are calculated, the way in which the investors can recover their money is not taken into account. High taxes are now imposed in Moldova, but no one thinks how to help the business sector increase revenues so as to pay higher salaries. The senior administration does not perceive the essence of entrepreneurs’ problems,” she stated.
The electoral public debate “What kind of President is society looking for? What kind of society does the President need?” forms part of a series of debates that involve candidates for the office of President of the Republic of Moldova. It was the 65th installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are organized by IPN with the assistance of the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
