No matter who governs the Republic of Moldova in the future, these will be unable to reinstall the barbed wire on the Prut or in our hearts because the irreversibility point of the synchronization between societies from both sides of the River was passed, Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca stated in the public discussion “Moldovan-Romanian relations: evolutions, expectations, quality measurements” that was staged by IPN News Agency and Radio Moldova.
According to the diplomat, the societies from the two sides of the Prut established a very solid contact and this is an irreversible process. “We are in full synchronization at civilizational level. There are thousands of unseen threads – some that are known, while others that are only seldom realized – that connect us. The contact area between our worlds increased during the last few years and is destined to yet increase,” he stated, noting that the large number of Moldovans competing in the show “Romanians have talent” is a conclusive example.
Marius Lazurca appreciated the gesture made by Moldova’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, who invited the representative of Romania to perform together with her on the stage in Stockholm. “Such spontaneous gestures are many in number,” he said.
The public discussion of April 29 forms part of the 53rd installment of the series of debates “Developing political culture by public debates” that are organized with the support of the German foundation “Hanns Seidel”.
